Acupuncture Therapy
"The physician should not treat the disease but the patient who is suffering from it" ~ Maimonides
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a vital part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and probably the most common and accepted TCM treatment in the Western culture.
Very thin, sterile, single-use needles are inserted into the skin along the meridian lines. The procedure is virtually painless, and surprisingly enough, even relaxing. The acupuncturist adjusts the needles during the treatment, which may be felt as a dull, pressure-like sensation. This is nothing to worry about, but usually a sign that qi is starting to flow freely again, and the treatment is working.
Acupuncture is very safe, when administered by a registered acupuncturist. Registered TCM practitioners are trained for a minimum of 2,600 hours! The health benefits derived from acupuncture are tremendous; it can be very effective in treating both acute and chronic illnesses, and while it is commonly used to relieve pain, it can help address almost any condition a family doctor would treat.
